Drugs are causing harm
Drugs are menace to any society and country. Our country is no exception. Sometimes I happen to view the debates on news channels. Instead of watching any useful and informative debate, I only find that the participants keep shouting and screaming. They do not seem to have any meeting or conference etiquettes. They do not listen to others. They join the debate with preconceived and highly biased notions and leave the debate believing even more than ever before that their view points were totally right.
But it should not happen like this. The compere should introduce the participants and then lay down the rules. If he/she finds that any participant is flouting the rules, he/she should first give a warning and then on second offence, he/she should mute that participant. If the participant refuses to learn, he/she should be asked to leave and should not be invited for future discussions. The compere should not have any pressure about channel's TRP.
While discussing drugs, we hear sensational news daily. However, irrespective of anybody's position or power, the law of the land should prevail and if NCB finds any one guilty, NCB should proceed as per law. Later, they have to present their case before the court. It is, therefore, important that they build a foolproof case so that the guilty do not escape unpunished
At the same time, it becomes the duty of the central and the state governments to ensure that effective and coercive measures are taken in Pan India and in states also so that our youth can be rescued from this menace since kids and youth are more at risk from this.
I hope that good sense will prevail and all concerned will follow the law. At the same time , it is also important to educate kids and youth about the harms of the drugs and there should be continuous efforts to rehabilitate the previous addicts ( after they serve the necessary punishment, if any, given to them ) after ensuring that they have stopped drug use. There should be counselling sessions, Yoga therapy and such youth can also be counselled to participate in some activities based on their skills through that can also start earning.
The GOI can also make a law on conscription wherein all able bodied men and women upto age of 45 years have to undergo a minimum of 18 months training / duty in any military/ para military or Police organisation. This way our country will always have a reserved force in case of any external or internal emergency or any natural disaster. Once addicts also have to undergo this training/duty, chances of their reformation become very high.
